When we were preparing for our first album, we knew we wanted it to be called Setting Sail. This is because we were embarking on a musical and personal voyage. We didn’t know if our sails would catch any wind. We didn’t know if music would take us anywhere ... Thanks to you, it did! It was a leap of faith, and the album became an accurate snapshot of that leap.
When we wrote Turn the Page, we had gone through a lot of hardship and change. So we set out to write a story-like album that traveled through the brokenness of this life and encouraged the listener to “take heart,” “read on,” “and remember to turn the page.” As such, it became an album of hope.
“Till We Go,” the final song of Turn the Page, says, “We’ll have faith, hope, and love along the way.” With our first album being about faith, and our second about hope, we realized we have a clear task ahead: an album about love.
As many of you undoubtedly caught the reference, St. Paul said, “Now faith, hope, and love abide ... But the greatest of these is love.” Because love is the greatest, we feel like this album needs to be greater than our previous two! So while the task is clear, the path is daunting. We have our work cut out for us, but we’re excited for the challenge!
