I Have Seen the King

I have never been to church
Or read a bible in my life
But I have seen the future
In the glowing lights of the midnight sky

So my friends and I set out to find the place
Where the future begins

We arrived in Jerusalem
Sought the learned and the holy men
All their preachers and their scholars
Said the King would be born in Bethlehem

But to our surprise and their demise, not one of them
Came along

To see the King

Like God’s chosen people of old
We were led by heavenly fire
Now I have seen the future
In the glowing light of a child’s eyes

So we offered up our treasures and laid them down
At the child’s feet

For we had met the King
